“I am never entirely in one place”: Who I Am and Why This Blog

My name is Leda Giuliani, and above all, I am a daughter of the land where I was born.

If you were to ask about me to those who knew me over the years, you would hear different stories—labels slapped onto me in an attempt (always a failed one) to define who I was.

When I was little, they called me the bitch. Then I became the fox. The reason? I never held my tongue, I talked back even as a young child, and I was considered far too clever for my own good. For others, I was simply a girl with her head perpetually in the clouds, lost in her own worlds. Later still, some started calling me the witch... and you know what? Of all the names, those people were probably the closest to the truth.

But the real truth is much simpler: I just wanted to be free. Free to be myself and, above all, to figure out who I truly was.

Between the Chains of Social Conventions and the Weight of Fate

Instead of that freedom, I found myself trapped for a long time—locked inside the social conventions of a preordained world, suffocated by the expectations and wills of others. It took time, pain, and a lot of lived life to understand one fundamental truth: an inevitable destiny exists.

I came to realize that our willpower isn't meant to change the course of external events, but rather to work on ourselves. We can decide who we want to be, but not how we will get there. The journey is decided by life, with its sharp turns and sudden glimpses into the future.

A Life Divided in Half

Today I look back and revisit my story with a healthy touch of detachment.

I was born with an ancestral nostalgia, an invisible thread that has accompanied me since my very first breath, preventing me from ever truly straying from my genuine spiritual home. My life is like this: perpetually split in two. I am never entirely in one place—one foot in the present, while my mind and soul reach toward dimensions, memories, and premonitions that escape the rest of the world.

This blog was born to tell that story: the roots, the premonitions, the 1980s, the wounds, and the daily magic of someone who finally decided to stop running away from herself.

What about you? Have you ever felt divided in half, trapped in roles that didn't belong to you, or guided by a nostalgia for something you can't even explain?

Tell me your story in the comments: welcome to my world.
