Questa è Gloria: Carina eh?!

Primavera 1986: Tra campi magnetici, triangoli incompiuti e truffe d'annata. 🎬🌲

  4. E poi? Perché non ero gelosa?me lo sto ancora chiedendo.

Spring 1986: Between Magnetic Fields, Unfinished Triangles, and Vintage Scams 🎬🌲

Spring 1986 didn’t arrive quietly. It showed up with the confident stride of Gloria—possessing the brazen beauty of someone who knows exactly how to get what she wants—and Edoardo caught right in her web.

While Gloria unleashed every seductive weapon in her arsenal to stay close to him, Edoardo and I kept up our incomprehensible dance: locking eyes one second, pulling away the next. A subterranean bond that neither of us had any idea how to handle.

The moment of truth arrived on an ordinary morning by the classroom coat rack.

Edoardo was standing right there, joking and laughing with Gloria. I pretended not to see them, keeping my eyes fixed straight ahead, though in reality, he was constantly on my sensory radar. I reached out, grabbed my jacket, and turned to leave, but with a lightning-fast reflex, he grabbed my arm.

His grip was tight, firm. “Where is our Leda off to?” he blurted out with a nervous laugh that betrayed his inner tension.

In that exact split second, I was hit by a violent, almost feral urge to push him away. That single point of physical contact instantly reignited the inner frequencies that had lain dormant for months—an energy overload that sent my whole system into tilt. I knew with terrifying certainty that going any deeper would hurt too much.

“LEAVE ME ALONE!” I screamed with a rage so blind it froze Milena in her tracks and made even Gloria look embarrassed. Edoardo felt my total shutdown instantly; his face hardened, wounded and dripping with suspicion. A full-blown emotional disaster.

And because destiny has a truly twisted sense of humor, the day couldn’t just end there.

I arrived home already on edge, only to find the grand finale waiting for me: the famous 'fir tree client' had unilaterally decided he wasn't going to pay for the goods. When my father made a completely innocent follow-up call to request payment, he was met with barely veiled threats against our family's safety. The result? My father, consumed by fear and bitterness, was forced to walk away from the money he was counting on and start all over from scratch—for the thousandth time.

Morals of the story?

  1. If your emotional radar goes into short circuit over someone grabbing your arm, romantic relationships might not be your strong suit just yet. Provided it's even just love.

  2. My dysfunctional family’s karma never takes a vacation (and it certainly doesn't offer payment plans).

  3. Certain clients deserved to have every single one of those fir trees fall right on top of them. 🌲💸

  4. And then? Why wasn't I jealous? I'm still asking myself that.
